Smart Grids - Modellregion Salzburg
Integrierte Infrastruktur in Salzburg

Die Entwicklung von Smart Grids im technischen Sinne bedeutet eine weitere Automatisierung der Energieversorgungsinfrastruktur. Dies betrifft insbesondere die Verteilnetze und die Integration der Energieanlagen von Endkunden in die Management- und Überwachungssysteme der Energiewirtschaft. Darüber hinaus bedeutet die Umsetzung von Smart Grids eine umfassende Neugestaltung des Elektrizitätsversorgungssystems, die alle beteiligten Akteure betrifft. Die Modellregion Salzburg kann für andere Regionen in Österreich Pionierarbeit leisten und die Entwicklung von Smart Grids und der zugehörigen Marktsegmente in Österreich beschleunigen.

Technologieentwicklungen für nachhaltige Gebäude

Die Programmlinie "Haus der Zukunft" hat das Ziel, marktfähige Komponenten, Bauteile und Baukonzepte für Wohn-, Büro- und Nutzbauten (Neubau und Sanierung) zu entwickeln und in Demonstrationsvorhaben zu realisieren. Hier werden drei neue österreichische Produktentwicklungen in den Bereichen Fenstersystem, Wandbauteile und nachhaltige Energieerzeugung vorgestellt.

Dezentrale Stromerzeugung und intelligente Netze

Für den Betrieb von Netzwerken mit einem hohen Anteil an dezentraler Erzeugung sind innovative Technologien und Konzepte notwendig, insbesondere neue Steuerungs- und Kontrollsysteme. Mit zunehmender Dichte an dezentralen Erzeugungsanlagen treten grundlegende Systemfragen wie Kapazitätsplanung, Stabilität, Schutzstrategien und vor allem die Versorgungsqualität in den Vordergrund. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, ein effizientes System zu schaffen, das auf flexible Weise alle vorhandenen Ressourcen optimal integriert. Österreich verfügt über weitreichende Erfahrungen und Kompetenz auf diesem Gebiet. Um dieses Stärkefeld weiter auszubauen, werden im Rahmen der Programmlinie "Energiesysteme der Zukunft" Forschungsprojekte durchgeführt, die sich mit technologischen, wirtschaftlichen und rechtlichen Fragen der Netzeinspeisung aus dezentralen Energieerzeugungseinheiten und dem aktiven Verteilnetzbetrieb sowie der dafür erforderlichen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie beschäftigen.

BIOGAS-NETZEINSPEISUNG IN ÖSTERREICH
Analysen der technischen, wirtschaftlichen und rechtlichen Voraussetzungen sowie Pilotprojekte im Rahmen von "Energiesysteme der Zukunft"

Im Rahmen der Programmlinie "Energiesysteme der Zukunft" wurden vier Forschungsprojekte durchgeführt, die sich mit technologischen, wirtschaftlichen und rechtlichen Fragen der Biogas-Netzeinspeisung in Österreich beschäftigen. Zu den Bereichen Gestehung/Rohstoffquellen, Verfahren und Kosten der Aufbereitung sowie Bedingungen für den Anschluss an das öffentliche Gasnetz werden konkrete Lösungen entwickelt und in Demonstrationsprojekten und Pilotanlagen umgesetzt.

Innovative Nutzung von nachwachsenden Rohstoffen am Beispiel eines Büro- und Ausstellungsgebäudes im Rahmen von "Haus der Zukunft"

Mit dem S-HOUSE ist ein innovatives Bauprojekt entstanden, das sowohl den hohen Energiestandard der Passivhausbauweise erfüllt, als auch den konsequenten Einsatz von Baustoffen aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen demonstriert. Zudem wurde eine Vielzahl von innovativen Lösungen entwickelt, die die problemlose Recyclierbarkeit aller eingesetzten Bauteile nach Ablauf der Lebensdauer ermöglichen.

DAS SCHIESTLHAUS AM HOCHSCHWAB - ALPINER STÜTZPUNKT IN PASSIVHAUSTECHNOLOGIE

Im Rahmen der Programmlinie "Haus der Zukunft" wurde erstmals ein integriertes Gesamtkonzept für einen energieautarken alpinen Stützpunkt entwickelt. Ausgehend von einem Studienprojekt an der TU Wien wurde von einem Planungsteam in enger Kooperation mit zahlreichen Projektpartnern die Neuerrichtung des Schiestlhauses am Hochschwab nach den Grundsätzen des solaren Bauens und in Passivhausbauweise geplant und umgesetzt.

Integrated Infrastructure in Salzburg

The development of smart grids in the engineering sense involves automating energy supply infrastructure to a greater extent: this applies particularly to the distribution networks and to integrating end users' energy-consuming equipment into the energy supply industry's management and monitoring systems. Going further, implementing smart grids means extensively restructuring the electricity supply system, which will affect each and every stakeholder. In this sense smart grids are a prerequisite for the politically mandated strategy of making more use of renewable energy. The showcase region of Salzburg can pioneer the way for other parts of Austria, and speed up the development of smart grids and the associated market segments in Austria.

Analyses of technological, economic, and legal prerequisites as well as pilot projects within the "energy systems of tomorrow" subprogram

Four research projects within the "Energy Systems of Tomorrow" subprogram focused on the technological, economic, and legal aspects of feeding biogas into the Austrian grid. Researchers developed concrete solutions concerning the issues of prime cost / feedstock, types of process, treatment costs as well as prerequisites for feeding biogas into the public grid and implemented the research results in demonstration projects and pilot plants.

THE "SCHIESTLHAUS" IN THE HOCHSCHWAB REGION - ALPINE REFUGE USING PASSIVE HOUSE TECHNOLOGY

Research within the sub-program "Building Of Tomorrow" resulted in a pioneering integrated concept for an energy self-sufficient mountain refuge. Based on a study project realized at the Vienna University of Technology a planning team cooperating with many project partners planned and implemented the new construction of the Schiestlhaus on Mount Hochschwab according to the principles of solar building and passive house standards.
